Nayra strongly believes that “There is a team behind the success of each student: Parents and Teachers”

Originally from Mexico, Nayra moved to Arizona in 1997 and has worked in a variety of areas of education supporting low income families and providing resources.

Nayra worked as News Reporter for UNIVISION Channel 33 in Phoenix, AZ and her coverage area of expertise were the themes about Education and Health. Several of her newstories were broadcasted not only locally, but Nationally too. She was recognized and awarded by Pete Garcia with the organization Chicanos Por La Causa as “Person of the Year ” for her involvement in the Hispanic Community by providing helpful community resources referrals to families in need of medical, food, financial assistance, and education resources for their children (2004). Nayra reached high ratings when she was promoted as New Anchor for the News shows at 5pm in 2007.

Nayra decided to change her career years later when her first nephew was born and later diagnosed with Autism. Her commitment with her family was a priority to help the young parents to grow the new family member to a life with dignity and inclusion. After her nephew graduated from High School, and helped him to get a job position with Petco in Texas, Nayra kept helping students with disabilities as a Special Education teacher in Elementary, Middle school, and High Schools.

Since 2017 Nayra has worked in both private, and low-income public schools districts serving areas with students K-12 in classrooms with accommodations to all types of disabilities. Her passion for helping this community has grown and well-developed in the areas of curriculum implementation and student assessment promoting inclusion and caring in delivery of personalized, hands-on support and lessons targeted to specific learning needs and strengths. Nayra strongly believes that parents play the most important role in the success of their kids, and with that in mind she has supported parents with strategies, lessons, and a series of tools for their children to succeed outside a classroom in the real world.

Nayra has a bachelor degree and is pursuing a dual master degree in Education K-8, and Special Education K-12 at Grand Canyon University.
