Marcelo is a native of Brazil who earned his bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management with a major in Restaurant Management from the Institut Lyfe and Universite Jean Moulin in Lyon, France. He spent most of his career working in prestigious and Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe and in the U.S. including El Bulli in Spain, Auberge La Feniere in France, and Homestead Inn in Connecticut, where he served celebrities including Prince Philip, Robert de Niro, and Meryl Steep.
Marcelo moved to Seattle in summer 2022 in search of a more meaningful life. He joined Northwest Center because of its shared values about diversity. He loves enjoying nature in the Pacific Northwest. With a multicultural background, he speaks five languages.
