From Early Supports for babies and very young children with disabilities or delays to Early Learning for children with or without disabilities, our therapists, resource coordinators, educators, and staff work with you as advocates and allies. Direct Support Services for Children, Families, & Educators

Hospital-To-Home: Birth to 6 Months
Our team of therapists and resource coordinators supports families in the critical time when babies from birth to 6 months (adjusting for prematurity) transition home from a hospital stay.

Early Supports: Birth to 3 Years
This family-centered program for children 0-3 with developmental delays offers speech-language, occupational, and physical therapy, nutrition, mental health, and education services, and family resources.

Developmental Bridge Program: Ages 3 to 5
In partnership with the City of Seattle, the Developmental Bridge Program provides support, therapy, education and advocacy for families of children from 3 to 5, helping them thrive as they transition out of Early Supports services. Contact us to learn more.

Inclusive Early Learning: 6 Weeks to 6 Years
At Northwest Center Kids Early Learning, children with and without disabilities learn and play together in an inclusive, high-quality classroom environment.

IMPACT: For Educators and Families of Children Preschool to Grade 3
The Northwest Center Kids IMPACT team supports other preschools, daycares, and early learning providers to include children with disabilities and challenging behaviors. Services include training, consultation, and online courses for early childhood educators, administrators, and coaches.

We believe that with the right training and support, all educators can successfully include children with disabilities and challenging behaviors in the classroom. The Northwest Center Kids IMPACT team provides training, consultation, and online courses for early childhood educators, administrators, and coaches.

Northwest Center Kids recognizes that the children and families we work with come from many different cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and that these experiences are important to acknowledge as they intersect with disability. We follow formal processes and engage in continued education to ensure that all children and families feel seen and heard, and we are always learning and listening in order to make every experience as safe, positive, and validating as possible. We utilize cultural and linguistic matches for our families when we are able, include interpreters at home visits and on phone calls, prioritize family goals, and include materials that represent children and families from a wide range of backgrounds.

A Commitment to Children with Disabilities Since 1965
Northwest Center was founded by four Seattle moms who refused to take no for an answer. When their kids with disabilities were rejected from school, they started their own. They wrote the first law in the nation guaranteeing public education to children with disabilities. They went on to help write the federal law now known as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which made public education possible for every child in the U.S. Today, their determination still inspires us to innovate, educate, and advocate for a more inclusive world.
