Ages 3-5: Preschool at Northwest Center Kids
Creative Curriculum for Preschool
In our Preschool classrooms, children experiment with new social, language, and motor skills. Our early literacy focus includes enjoyable books to foster a love of reading and fun ways to learn letters (for example, learning the letter “b” as a part of an in-depth study on buildings). Children gain confidence through developmentally appropriate activities including dramatic play, games, art, music and movement, computers, and the outdoors.
Our preschool is part of the Seattle Preschool Program, building a foundation for successful learning through positive peer interactions, social-emotional competence (the ability to interact with others, regulate emotions and behavior, solve problems, and communicate effectively), and purposeful play in an inclusive environment. Parents and caregivers are important partners in every child’s learning, and we share curriculum and activities through newsletters, lesson plans, and ongoing communication.
Inside our Preschool Classrooms

Imaginations have free rein in classroom interest areas including a farmer’s market stand in the dramatic play area and a crane operator in the block center.

Creating with modeling compound or other substances is always a favorite.
