Infant Classrooms at Northwest Center Kids Early Learning
Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Twos
Welcome to the Infant Classroom, where our youngest learners play and explore in our colorful, vibrant infant rooms. Our goal is to partner with families and caregivers to give your little one the best care possible in a daycare environment where they feel safe, emotionally secure, and have a sense of belonging.
Our youngest learners enjoy:
- Exploring their environment at their own pace
- Developmentally appropriate toys
- Singing
- Reading books
- Soft textures and play surfaces
- Water play
- Interactions with other children
- Painting
Inside our Infant Classrooms
-
Infants play with developmentally appropriate toys that are regularly switched out to appeal to changing interests and ability levels.
-
Inside and outside our Infant Classrooms, we provide sensory activities to spark children’s curiosity and exploration of the world around them. Here, some of our infants get a guided tour of student art during a Week of the Young Child celebration.
-
Indoor and outdoor playtime is part of our daily schedule year-round.
-
Our Infants curriculum is language-rich and includes sign language, songs, narration of daily events, and story time.
-
One of the ways we keep a connection between home and school life is by displaying family photos in the classroom at children’s eye level.
-
Both individual and group activities for infants are designed to support individual goals for each child.
-
We maintain individual sleep and feeding schedules for every child. Children who eat solid foods join classmates and staff for family-style dining. A menu of vegetarian meals and snacks is prepared in-house by our chef, following USDA-approved meal plans that meet the nutritional needs of growing babies.
-
When tired babies are ready for a nap, a nurturing caregiver is readily available for cuddling and rocking them to sleep.
