From birth through retirement, Northwest Center serves people of all abilities in a multitude of ways.
Northwest Center Kids believes that all children should have the opportunity to learn, play, and grow together. Northwest Center Kids serves infants, children and teens with and without disabilities through a blend of education, early intervention, and childcare including before/after school care. Through inclusive environments, we give children opportunities to reach their highest potential while developing positive attitudes toward people of all abilities. And their families gain tools and resources to approach the future with confidence and hope.
Northwest Center Teens is a space for teenagers of all abilities. Our doors are always open when Seattle public schools are closed, in order to offer social experiences for teens and support for working families. We believe that all individuals should be provided with leisure opportunities and community events. Through our after-school program, summer camp, specialized camps and various enrollment options, NWC Teens has a program that will fit into the busiest of schedules.
School 2 Work. Every year, Northwest Center works with students graduating from high schools in King County as they seek to transition into the workforce. Utilizing our vast array of contacts and connections we have enjoyed great success in finding jobs for these students so that they leave school with a job and enter the working world with confidence.
Northwest Center Employment Services works with both employers and people of all abilities to secure mutually beneficial job placements within the community. Each person we serve begins with an individualized employment plan
based on their unique interests, skills and aspirations. Through trial work assessments, skill building, job development, and ongoing support we assist each person in achieving their employment goals. Our clients face prejudices and misconceptions about their employment capabilities; Northwest Center works with the employee and employer to address these concerns and to demonstrate the benefits of an inclusive workplace through positive and long-term
